Thank you for sharing your story. That response was heartbreaking and surely not the way of Jesus. I recall a situation when I was pastoring a church, in which a young, unmarried woman became pregnant. The pastoral staff encouraged the church to host a celebratory baby shower. We encountered resistance out of fear that it would be seen as condoning sin. We didn't give in and celebrated the occasion. Love and mercy triumph over judgment. Christ's best to you.
