So many wonderful insights here Jess. Have you read Peter Scazzero's "Emotionally Healthy Spirituality"? Your post echoed many of the things he says in that excellent book. We can't be spiritually healthy without being emotionally healthy. This inevitable means we get to know ourselves better. This impulse initially feels self-centered, but it is not. God is graciously at work in our unique lives. Thank you for these wise words!
